Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White) riceve in eredità il ristorante di famiglia in seguito al suicidio del fratello. Il suo re-inserimento in un ambiente popolare, dopo essersi formato in cucine di alto livello mondiale, è problematico e frenetico. Carmy dovrà fare i conti con un’attività piena di debiti e con una cucina decisamente diversa da quella per cui ha ricevuto la sua formazione. Ma le difficoltà più grandi del giovane cuoco saranno tutt’altro che economiche o gestionali: Carmy dovrà fare i conti con un passato tormentato e con i suoi sogni spezzati.
